This unit is shipped with the battery NOT CONNECTED so as to not drain during shipment and storage. When your buildings power fails, the included battery will provide a minimum of 90 minutes illumination. Battery Backup- This unit is wired to your buildings electricity and includes a Battery for Backup Power.
